The scoring in the sheet comes from the figures you enter about your own contracts. Any vendor price named on this site is read from that vendor's own pricing page on a stated date and recorded with its source.
Choosing contract management software is mostly a question about your own contracts, not about feature grids. The category runs from a shared drive with a spreadsheet of dates, through a flat-priced repository like TermsBird, to enterprise contract lifecycle management sold per seat with an implementation. Which one is right turns on four numbers: how many live agreements you keep, how many of them renew, how short the shortest notice period is, and how many people need to be able to find a copy without asking you. The comparison sheet on this page takes those four and prices the category at your size, and it will tell you when the honest answer is a folder and a calendar.

Count what you actually keep
Live agreements only: signed, not expired, not terminated, and somebody could still owe something under them. Most businesses guess high on this number and low on the second one. Expired contracts you keep for the record do not change what software costs you, so leave them out; the count that matters is the one somebody could be asked about.
Count the renewals and the shortest notice period
This is the number that decides the answer. Fifty contracts that run to a fixed end date and stop are a folder. Twenty that auto-renew on sixty days notice are eighteen decisions a year that have to be made inside a window, and missing one costs you a year of a contract you did not want.
Price the category at that size, then look at what it replaces
A flat-priced repository costs the same whether three people or thirty need to find a contract; per-seat CLM does not. Put your seat count in and the two curves separate fast. Then set the total against the hours a quarter that currently go into finding contracts and answering questions about them.
Decide on the two failure modes, not the feature list
There are only two ways a contract record fails: you cannot find the contract, or you did not see the date. Every feature beyond those is a preference. Buy the cheapest thing that closes both, and be suspicious of anything that closes neither.

What the person who keeps the contracts asks about the Best contract management software
What is the best contract management software for a business with under a hundred contracts?
At that size the honest shortlist is a flat-priced repository or a well-kept shared drive with the dates in a calendar. TermsBird Pro is $12.41 a month for the whole business, which at eighty live contracts is about $1.86 per contract a year. If none of your contracts auto-renew, the shared drive is genuinely fine and the sheet on this page will say so.
Are the best contract management tools the same as CLM software?
No. Contract lifecycle management is the enterprise end of the category: drafting, approval routing, clause libraries, negotiation and signature, usually per seat and usually with an implementation project. A contract management tool at the small end does one thing, which is keep the signed agreement and its dates. If nobody in your business has the job title contract manager, you want the second one.
How do you compare contract management software without a demo?
By pricing it at your own size and checking two things: whether it exports everything you put into it, and whether it warns you before a notice window rather than after. Both are answerable from a pricing page and a help article. Feature grids do not separate products in this category; price per seat and export do.
Does this page rank vendors?
No, and nobody can pay to appear on it. The only competitor figure here is Rocket Lawyer's published price, read from their own pricing page on the date stated. The sheet scores the category at your size and leaves the choosing to you.
TermsBird Pro
Keeping the contract after the sheet has scored it
You keep the contracts. Pro holds each one against its counterparty with its effective date, expiry, notice period and value, warns you before the notice window closes, keeps the obligations somebody in the business owes under it, and exports the lot whenever you ask, so leaving is never a hostage situation.
- Take the contract record away as a file whenever you want it
- Send a renewal notice with nothing on it but your business
- Come back next quarter and find the contracts still there
- Put your logo on the notices and letters that go to a counterparty
- Export every contract, date and obligation at once, so leaving is never a hostage situation
- Send the renewal notice or termination letter from the record it belongs to
